    What is the PDF Splitter?

    A PDF splitter breaks one PDF into smaller files, or pulls out only the pages you need — the signed page of a contract, one chapter of a report, a single statement from a year of bank statements. Choose to extract a set of pages into one new PDF, split at ranges you type, cut the file into equal parts of N pages, or save every page as its own PDF.

    The splitting happens inside your browser tab, so the document is never uploaded to a server. Pages are copied exactly as they are rather than re-rendered, which means text stays selectable, links keep working and nothing is re-compressed or watermarked. Your original file is not changed.

    How to use it

    1. Drop a PDF onto the page, or click to choose one. Its page count is shown as soon as it has been read.
    2. Pick a mode: Extract pages, Split by ranges, Every N pages or One file per page.
    3. For the first two, type the pages, such as 1-3, 5, 8- (8- means page 8 to the end, and -4 means the first four pages).
    4. Press Split PDF, then download each file, or all of them at once as a ZIP.

    Frequently asked questions

    How do I extract just a few pages from a PDF?
    Choose Extract pages and type the pages you want, for example 2, 5-7. They are saved into one new PDF in that order. Repeated pages are included once.
    What does a range like 8- or 5-1 mean?
    8- means page 8 to the last page, and -4 means pages 1 to 4. A reversed range such as 5-1 gives pages 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 — a quick way to reverse the order of a document.
    Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
    No. The PDF engine runs inside the page and reads the file from your device with the browser’s File API. Once the page has loaded, splitting works even offline.
    Does splitting reduce quality?
    No. Each page is copied into the new file unchanged — text, images and vector graphics are not re-rendered or re-compressed. Some shared resources, such as fonts, are copied into every part, so the parts can add up to more than the original size.
    Can I split a password-protected PDF?
    Not while it is locked. Open it with its password, save an unprotected copy, and split that. The tool tells you when a file is protected.
