What is the Resume Builder?

A resume builder turns your work history into a clean, well-structured document without a fight with margins, fonts or a word processor’s idea of bullet points. Fill in your details, experience, education and skills, pick one of three professionally designed templates — Modern, Classic or Minimal — and choose an accent colour. The resume lays itself out beside the form as you type, and any section you leave empty simply disappears.

Every template is built to be read by applicant tracking systems (ATS) as well as by people: the PDF contains real, selectable text in a logical order, section headings are the standard ones recruiters and parsers look for, and your links are printed as readable URLs as well as being clickable. Everything happens in your browser — your phone number, address and employment history are never uploaded, and there is no sign-up, watermark or paywall on the download.

Resume or CV? In the US and Canada a resume is a one- or two-page summary tailored to a job, while a CV is a full academic record. In India, the UK, Europe and the Gulf the words are used almost interchangeably for the same two-page document, which is exactly what this builder produces.

How to use it

  1. Pick a template, an accent colour, a text size and how dates should look.
  2. Enter your name, headline and contact details, and add links such as LinkedIn or GitHub.
  3. Write a two-to-four line summary, then add each role, most recent first, with one achievement per line.
  4. Add education, skills (use “Group: skill, skill” lines to group them), projects and certifications.
  5. Check the page estimate above the preview, then press Download PDF and choose “Save as PDF”.

Is this resume builder really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark, no “premium template” paywall and no limit on downloads. The PDF is produced by your own browser.
Will an ATS be able to read my resume?
The templates are designed for it. Every word is real text rather than an image, the reading order is name, summary, experience and so on, dates sit next to each role, and sections use the headings parsers expect — Experience, Education, Skills. No layout can guarantee how every ATS scores a resume, so also mirror the wording of the job description where it truthfully describes your work; if an employer’s portal is known to struggle with columns, choose Classic or Minimal, which are single-column.
How long should a resume be?
One page is ideal for students and people with under five or so years of experience; two pages is normal for experienced professionals. Beyond two pages, trim older roles to a line or two. The preview shows an estimated page count and marks where page breaks fall, and the Compact text size helps a resume that is just over a page.
What is the difference between a resume and a CV?
In North America a resume is a short, targeted summary, and a CV (curriculum vitae) is a long academic record of publications, teaching and grants. In India, the UK and most of Europe “CV” usually means the same two-page document Americans call a resume. For academic posts, add publications as a project or award list, or ask the institution which format it wants.
Should I put a photo on my resume?
It depends on where you are applying. Photos are common and often expected in India, the Middle East and parts of Europe, but in the US, UK and Canada they are usually left off to avoid bias. The photo is optional here and stays in your browser.
What should I write in each experience entry?
Three to five bullet points per recent role, each starting with a strong verb and ending with a result — ideally a number: “Cut checkout latency by 38%”, “Grew organic sign-ups from 2k to 9k a month”. Older roles need fewer bullets. Put one achievement per line in the form and they become bullets.
Where is my resume data stored?
Only in your own browser. The resume is rendered on this page and the PDF is made by your browser’s print engine, so nothing you type is sent to a server. A draft is kept in local storage so it survives a reload; use “Clear saved details” to remove it, especially on a shared computer.
