What is the Salary Slip Generator?

A salary slip (or payslip) is the monthly statement an employer gives each employee: what they earned, what was deducted and what reached their bank account. In India it is also the document banks, landlords, visa offices and new employers ask for as proof of income, so it needs to be clear and add up exactly.

This generator lays out a payslip in the familiar Indian format — company and employee details at the top, attendance, earnings and deductions side by side, and the net pay highlighted with the amount in words. Enter the full monthly components and, if there were loss-of-pay days, it can prorate the earnings for you. Everything is calculated and rendered in your browser; salary figures, PAN and bank details are never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Add the company name, address and, optionally, a logo.
  2. Choose the pay period and pay date, then fill in the employee’s details, PAN, UAN and bank account.
  3. Enter the working days and any loss-of-pay days, and tick “Prorate earnings” if pay should be reduced for them.
  4. List each earning (basic, HRA, special allowance…) at its full monthly amount, and each deduction (PF, professional tax, TDS…).
  5. Pick a computer-generated footer or signature lines, then press Download PDF and choose “Save as PDF”.

Frequently asked questions

What should a salary slip contain?
At minimum: the employer’s name and address, the employee’s name, ID and designation, the pay period, each earning and deduction with its amount, gross earnings, total deductions and net pay. Indian payslips usually also show PAN, UAN or PF number, ESI number where applicable, bank account, working days and loss-of-pay days.
How does loss-of-pay proration work?
With the option on, each earning is multiplied by paid days ÷ working days. For example, a basic salary of ₹60,000 with 3 LOP days in a 30-day month becomes ₹60,000 × 27 ÷ 30 = ₹54,000. Rows marked “Fixed”, such as a bonus or reimbursement, are not reduced. Deductions are used exactly as you enter them, because payroll normally computes PF and TDS on the earned figures already.
Should working days be calendar days or business days?
Follow your company’s payroll policy. Many Indian employers divide by the calendar days in the month (30 or 31, or 28/29 in February), which is what this tool uses when you leave working days blank; others use a fixed 26 or 30. Enter the number you use and the proration follows it.
Does this calculate PF, ESI, professional tax or TDS for me?
No — you enter each deduction amount, because the correct figures depend on the wage ceiling your company applies for PF, whether ESI applies, your state’s professional tax slab and the employee’s tax regime and declarations. The generator totals them and works out the net pay.
Is a payslip made here an official document?
A payslip is a record issued by the employer, and it is only as authoritative as the company that issues it and the figures it contains. This tool helps an employer or payroll team produce a clean, correct-looking slip; it must reflect the salary actually paid. Creating a payslip that misstates income is fraud.
