What is the Business Proposal Generator?

A business proposal is how you win a piece of work: it shows the client you understand their problem, explains how you will solve it, and sets out exactly what they get, when and for how much. This generator turns your notes into a polished, multi-section proposal with a cover band in your brand colour, numbered sections, a timeline of milestones and a pricing table with tax and totals worked out for you.

Fill in only the sections you need — executive summary, the client’s challenge and objectives, your approach, scope and deliverables, timeline, investment, why you, terms and next steps. Anything left blank is dropped from the document and the rest are renumbered, so a short proposal never has empty headings. When it reads well, download a print-quality PDF with selectable text. Everything stays in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Enter the proposal title, subtitle, number and dates, upload your logo and pick an accent colour.
  2. Add who the proposal is for and who it is from.
  3. Write the executive summary, the client’s problem and objectives, and your proposed approach.
  4. List the deliverables, the timeline phases and the priced items, with an optional tax rate.
  5. Add payment terms, why you, assumptions and next steps, then press Download PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What should a business proposal include?
A good proposal answers the client’s questions in order: what is the problem, what do you propose, what exactly will be delivered, when, what does it cost, why should they choose you, and what happens next. That is the structure of this generator. Keep the executive summary to a few short paragraphs — it is often the only part a decision-maker reads in full.
What is the difference between a proposal and a quotation?
A quotation is a priced list of goods or services. A proposal makes the case for the work — the problem, your approach, scope, timeline and terms — and includes the pricing as one section. For a straightforward price list, the Quotation Generator is quicker.
Can I leave sections out?
Yes. Only the cover is always shown. Any section you leave empty is removed from the document and the remaining ones are renumbered, so the numbering is always continuous. The acceptance block can be switched off too.
Is the signed proposal a contract?
A proposal accepted in writing can form part of a binding agreement, but whether it does depends on its contents and the law that applies. For large or complex engagements, it is common to sign a separate contract or statement of work; take legal advice if you are unsure.
How do I save the proposal as a PDF?
Press Download PDF and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Turn off “Headers and footers” in the print settings for a clean page. The file is named after the proposal number, title and client.
