Choose pixels, a percentage or a target size in KB above, then add images on the left.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your data isn't uploaded — this page makes no network request with anything you type or upload, which you can verify in your browser's network tab. How this works.

    What is the Image Resizer?

An image resizer changes the size of a photo in one of the three ways forms and websites usually ask for: an exact width and height in pixels, a percentage of the original, or a maximum file size in KB. The last one is what exam, job and government portals mean by "photo under 50 KB" or "signature between 10 and 20 KB", and it is the hardest to hit by hand.

In KB mode the tool tries quality settings first, because that keeps every pixel, and only makes the image smaller when quality alone cannot reach the limit. You get the largest, sharpest version that still fits. Images are resized in your browser and never uploaded, so ID photos and signatures stay on your device.

    How to use it

    1. Choose how to resize: Pixels, Percent or File size (KB).
    2. Enter the width and height, pick a percentage, or type the target size in KB.
    3. Optionally choose an output format: JPG works everywhere, WebP is smaller, PNG stays lossless.
    4. Drop images onto the page, or click to choose them. They are resized as soon as they are added.
    5. Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP.

    Example

A phone photo reduced to fit a 50 KB upload limit.

    Image added
    IMG_2041.jpg 4032 × 3024 3.4 MB
Mode: File size (KB) · Target: 50 KB
    Result
    IMG_2041.jpg 3.4 MB → 49 KB
    1411 × 1058 · JPG · quality 61

    Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to 20 KB or 50 KB?
Choose File size (KB), type the limit, then add the photo. The tool lowers the JPG quality until the file fits and only reduces the pixel size if it has to. The final size is shown next to the download.
    Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens in your browser using its built-in image encoder. The page sends nothing about your images to any server.
What does Keep aspect ratio do?
With it on, the image keeps its shape: enter just a width or a height and the other side is worked out, or enter both and the image fits inside that box. Turn it off to force an exact size, which can stretch the picture.
Why was my PNG saved as a JPG in KB mode?
PNG is lossless, so its size cannot be dialled down with a quality setting. To reach a size limit the tool saves a JPG instead, which is what almost every upload form accepts anyway.
What size should a photo and signature be for exam forms?
It varies by form, so check the notification. Common rules are a photo of 20–50 KB at around 200 × 230 pixels and a signature of 10–20 KB at around 140 × 60 pixels. Resize by pixels first, then by KB if the file is still too big.
